Officers
President - Scott Salopek
Scott Salopek is your 2009-2010 River Hill FBLA President. Scott is currently a senior at River Hill, where he is also involved in the National Honor Society and the United Student Leaders, a group of leaders from FBLA and SGA. Scott has been involved in FBLA for three years, and has served as the chapter vice president, Maryland State Secretary and Maryland State Reporter. He currently serves as the Maryland State Vice President, and also serves on the Congregation Council at Holy Lutheran Trinity Church. Scott envisions numerous achievements for our chapter this year, as he works to increase membership, fundraising, visibility, and success at the State Leadership Conference. Vice President - Brittany Cohen
Brittany Cohen is currently a senior at River Hill High School. She has been a member of FBLA for the past two years, and has competed at a regional, two state, and a national conference. She is enrolled in the Business Management Academy, and studied business separately in G/T Independent Research this past year. Her goals include increasing membership activity and communication.
Vice President - Tim Fisher
Greetings from Tim Fisher , your 2009-2010 River Hill FBLA Co-Vice President. Tim serves as the Co-Chairman of the Fundraising Committee for River Hill FBLA, and Tim welcomes any ideas or questions you may have. Tim is currently a sophmore at River Hill, is involved in JSA, the Ecology Club, and Cross Country. Tim looks forward to a great year of opportunity and achievement with you!
Secretary - Jocelyn Kojzar
Jocelyn Kojzar is a junior at River Hill and Secretary of the school's chapter of FBLA. Since she first joined FBLA in 9th grade, the organization has been a large part of her life. She attended the National Leadership Conference both her freshman and sophomore years and raised over $1,400 to benefit the "Butterflies for Babies" March of Dimes fundraiser. Outside of FBLA, Jocelyn enjoys running Cross-Country and Track & Field and volunteering through Girl Scouts of America. She is excited to help other members and the community to become more involved in FBLA and hopes for an amazing year serving as your local chapter Secretary!
Treasurer - Leticia Murakami
Leticia Murakami is now a junior at River Hill and has been involved in FBLA since her freshman year. Although this is her first year as an officer (serving as your Treasurer), Leticia is very excited to be part of the organization. She is also very active in the Dance Company as well as in the Class of 2011 SGA. Leticia hopes to increase membership in our chapter and to once again win the title of "number one chapter" in the State of Maryland.
Historian - Sheetal Chopra
Sheetal Chopra has been a member of FBLA since her freshmen year and is honored to be a part of this outstanding chapter! Her goal is to become highly involved in recruiting new members to our FBLA team! She looks forward to another exciting year with new challenges and opportunities.
Reporter - Patrick Herbert
Patrick Herbert is a senior at River Hill and is entering his third year of FBLA involvement. He has competed in two Region IIC conferences, two Maryland State Leadership Conferences, and one National Leadership Conference. Patrick also plays lacrosse on the varsity team as a starting Defenseman. He aspires to attend a college or university and receive a masters degree or JD. Patrick seeks to improve communication within the chapter as your chapter Historian.
Parliamentarian - Daniel Li
Daniel Li is currently a senior at the preeminent River Hill. As the Maryland State Parliamentarian and River Hill Chapter Parliamentarian, Daniel has been a part of FBLA since his freshmen year and has savored and enjoyed every moment, from participating in local chapter events to attending national conferences. He looks forward to an exciting year working with the FBLA members, staff and administration, and leaders throughout the school to "reach epic heights".
Public Relations - Sydney Braithwaite
Sydney Braithwaite is River Hill FBLA's Public Relations Officer for the 2009-2010 school year, and is committed to recruiting new enthusiastic members and communicating important information to all FBLA members. She looks forward to being a part of the River Hill's FBLA officer team as our chapter heads into another year that promises success.
Public Relations - Kurt Anderson
Kurt Anderson is your 2009-2010 River Hill FBLA Co Public Relations officer. He is currently a sophomore here at River Hill and is enrolled in the Business Management Academy. Kurt is also the mixer board operator of Hawk Talk and the producer of Ask Jack. Kurt is very excited about the upcoming school year and looks forward to meeting you.
Project Manager - Karthik Krishnan
Karthik Krishnan is a junior here at RHHS, and is proud to serve as your 2009-2010 Project Manager. He has been actively involved in FBLA since his freshman year and has since served on the executive advisory board. Through his active involvement at the state level (serving as Maryland State Webmaster) and national level (serving as Eastern Region Secretary), Karthik has accumulated a wealth of FBLA related knowledge. Karthik looks forward to working with all of you this year as we Reach Epic Heights!
Treasurer's Assistant - Govin Vatsan
As a junior, Govin Vatsan has already gained a great deal of experience from his involvement in FBLA for the past two years, through competitive events, workshops, and conferences. Aside from FBLA, he is also a 2nd Degree Black Belt in Tang Soo Do, a form of Karate, and has a great interest in Finance and Community Service. In the upcoming year, he hopes to invigorate greater structure and organization into this already great association.
Multimedia Specialist - Nick Mari
Nick Mari is excited to serve as your Multimedia Specialist, hoping to improve River Hill FBLA in every way possible. He is currently enrolled in both the Businesss Management Academy and the Accounting Academy, and serves as President of the Howard County Film Festival Planning Committee. After high school, Nick plans on attending the Virginia Military Institute and spending a long a successful career in the United States Marine Corps as an infantry officer, while implementing the skills he has polished in FBLA.
